A career in Education is not my choice, it is my passion. Last month I began my Junior year at Jacksonville State University. Being one step closer to achieving one of my dreams makes this a very exciting season in my life!
For several years I have felt a calling to become an educator. I think back on teachers and role models that made an impact on my life, and I want to do the same for my future students. To be able to have a front-row seat in watching children grow and learn is a privilege. As much as I want to teach young people and help them flourish, I know they have so much more to teach me. Every child has a purpose and deserves for their voice to be heard. My hope is that I can foster learning for each individual and assist them in reaching their highest potential. I want to create an environment that engages and empowers all learners.
Another factor in pursuing my degree is showing my own children that it is never too late to go after your dreams. I may not have followed the conventional path, but I'm so thankful for my journey and all the valuable lessons I have learned along the way. I look forward to bringing my ideas to the table for the youth of today. Establishing relationships with students, parents, and the community will build a successful future for us all.
I invite you to follow along with me as I continue my journey. This blog will be a place where I can share with others my adventures in the classroom. Stay tuned for more exciting news!
